WHAT IS COMPUTER?
Computer is a programmable machine that has been designed for reading and executing the order of a list of instructions that make it perform arithmetic and logic operations on binary numbers

WHAT IS COMPUTER ORGANIZATION AND ARCHITECTURE?
Computer architecture is the design of a concept and structure of a computer despair. This architecture is also a blueprint and a description of the function and performance of the design requirements for each part of the computer, especially the way the central processing unit (CPU) to function internally and to address the memory.

1.1  Computer Specifiton

1.1.1        General Computer Parts
·         Find out the advertidment on the computer
·         Ask the computer shop , which brand is better?

Things to Consider before buying the Computer
·         Asked computer expertise
·         Gather information on the Internet about the computer specifition
·         Carefully review the expectation computer specifition
·         Look into a variety of computer brand
·         Compare the prices between the computer specifitions
·         Your budget also contributed the computer specifitions
·         A warranty (at least a year and software provided)

1.2  Coputer Component

1.2.1        Choosing Computer Components

v  Internal Components
§ Power Supply : the appropriate voltages for alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) for the internal components.

§ Motherboard : all main component on the electronic coputer is on this centrepieces.

§ Processor/CPU : normally, it is fixed(come together) with the motherboard. It the computer brain.

§ RAM : temporarily store instruction /data for CPU usage.

§ Hard Drive / Hard Disk : store long term data. The operating system always store here.

§ Graphics/Video Disk : to provide connection on the coputer monitor.

v  External Componentc

§ Keyboard : to type somethings on

§ Mouse : to scroll over something

§ Monitor : to make the output appear.CRT and LCD are the type of monitor

1.3  Description Of Desktop PC

v  Gathering the Computer Components

·        Power Supply and Power Connector

Ø  ATX form factor standard (make sure the ATX power supply is used with the ATX cases and ATX motherboard)

·        Processer /CPU

Ø  The ‘Brain’ of the computer

·        CPU CoolingFan/Heat Sink

Ø  Active and Passive

·        Motherboard/ Main Board

Ø  Many variety of the size
Ø  Other component that on the main board should compatible with the size on the motherboard

·        Memory

Ø  Random Access Memory (RAM) : Daynamic and Static RAM
Ø  Read Only Memory (ROM)
Ø  Virtual Memory

v  Basic Input / Output System
·        Is a configuration program that store detail of of the computer hardware and to boot up the computer. BIOS located at Read Only Memory

PC Component

Specification /Suggestion
Internal Hardware
CPU
2.93 GHz, 4MB smart cache, 2.5 GT / s DMI

Heat Sink/Cooling Fan
CPU cooler for relishing a great balance performance

Motherboard
Normally its should fix with the CPU

RAM
1 GB and above

IDE Cable
Integrated Device Electronics for dat transferring between motherboard and drive

Power Supply
ATX power supply

Hard Disk
40 GB and above
External Hardware
Monitor
LCD monitor

Keyboard
Send electronics impulses directly to computer

Mouse
User friendly tool

CD/DVD ROM
For backup purpose

Table 1.1 :Assemble PC Consideration

v  Beside the list of PC component, there is a few basic tools that we need for assembly PC:

·        A ¼ Philips screwdriver (for external screws)
·        A 3/16 Philips-head screwsdriver (for all other screws)
·        A needle nose pliers (for one particular motherboard mounting screw)
